You are not what you have been told you are

Do you know who you are?
You are not what you think you are, you are not what you have been told you are, you are not your thoughts but the observer of them. This is just some of the reflections that Paz Calap, Coach and Mindfulness Expert, invites us to make.
One of the effects of Awakening Consciousness is to realize who you are or at least who you are not. We identify with what we have been told we are instead of discovering it for ourselves, that’s why we suffer.
We live in a sick society, we are sick with stress and anxiety and we do not dare to live with authenticity, to be ourselves, that is why we suffer.
We spend our lives acting, representing a character, the one we think we should be or the one we identify with. We do not know, no one has taught us, we do not have the resources to make the inner journey to our own essence, to our authenticity, to connect with the truth, with the love that we are.
According to Paz Calap, we must re-educate ourselves and start again with humility and honesty to begin to discover ourselves and know who we are. Knowing who I am is not possible without Self-Knowledge.
You can’t know who you are if you don’t know yourself. We don’t live in balance, that’s why we can’t find the inner peace to be happy.
We identify with emotion, with thoughts, and with our body and that is why we suffer. We are spiritual beings, but we identify with a body that we think is imperfect when it is only a vehicle to live the human experience.
Managing our thoughts and emotions is the key to mental and emotional strength and peace. Mindfulness and meditation helps us to manage our thoughts, observe them without judgment to disassociate ourselves from them and thus manage the way we feel.
